Bought a set from Summit for my /6 to small block conversion. I tried to install it and before I even got to the specified torque (they provided) the stud broke off. Summit swithed them for a new set and the second set did the exact same thing. Both sets only got to ~75% of the torque specs before they broke. I returned the second set and bought a set of Schumachers.

What year are you working on? There are more ways to get a big block in an A-body than to buy expensive conversion mounts.

It's easy to make a copy of the old Direct Connection k-member (starting with a 73-76 V8 K-member), motor plate, and custom mounts. I'm not knocking Schumacher (or their customers), but they are making serious money off people who want the easy way out and just open their wallets. The problem is that their mounts are not always easy, but they are expensive.

I have personally modified a few K members, and they turned out well. Try this:
Take the factory mounts OFF the K member while leaving the steering box mounts in place.
Set the motor/trans in place and attach the trans mount. This will locate the motor in the correct position fore/aft.
Make sure that the oil pan is centered in the inner curve of the K frame.
Using a carpenters level set atop each valve cover, make sure the engine sits level, then mock up new mounts.
I have used cardboard to build mock up mounts, then used them as a pattern for the steel ones.
If you have a Sawzall and a welder, you can do just about anything!
