I came across a set of four nice ORIGINAL Polyglas GT's. G60-15 3 tires: DOT MBUF WPH342 (34th week 1972) 1 tire: DOT MBUF WPH352 (35th week 1972)
They are raised letters but not white letters...
Any thoughts on what they may have came on from the factory? Maybe not even a Mopar...don't know, someone suggested Mach 1 Mustang...
Thank you.

Being September '72 tires, if they are original equipment, they would be for/from a 1973 model year car.
I believe they are too big for a 351C Mustang & any 15" pony cars from '73. In '73 the "performance intermediates: Dodge Charger Rallye/SE, Plymouth Road Runner/GTX, Pontiac GTO/LeMans/Grand Am, Buick Grand Sport/Century models (Olds 442/Hurst-Olds - NO, Chevy Laguna/SS/etc. - maybe not?) used G60-15s. Not sure if any of them used "blackwall" G60-15s.
So "as-is" they might simply be a little "cheaper" out-the-door Goodyear store Polyglas tire.

I quizzed Mr. Kelsey and he said that it could have been that the customer requested to have the white letters dyed black, unfinished tires that did not have the buffing done to the white letters, or that they were blems that did not have the white rubber loaded when the tires were poured. There was not a commercial reason for elevated black letter tires. In '72, I believe that the only factory application of the G60-15 of Polyglas in '72 was the Buick GS.
