On an RB emgine, what's the optuimum oil pickup to pan clearance, and whats the best way to measure it? Thanks in advance, Bob

Set it up for zero clearance with the bare pan, then when you add gaskets/windage tray it'll be perfect.

It depends on pickup type... the MOPAR style pickup is designed for zero clearance. Most aftermarket pickups need clearance.

The Mopar service manuals call for zero clearnces on the stock pickups, I use a coat hangar and set the pickup so the coat hanger (stuck through the oil pan drain plugs on the stock type pans ) barely slides under the low side of the stock pickups On the non stock pickups use the manufacturers specs.
