One of my buddies has a 67 Camaro and I have a 72 Duster. We are both trying to restore our cars and like to talk about what we are doing at any given time. We started talking about weight and I told him I was hoping my car would be 3200lb or under when I was done (340 4 spd car). He said "Oh, man that's HEAVY!" I was surprised to hear that since I look on here all the time and see full interior cars that weigh that much and more and asked him why he thinks that. He said "Well my Camaro is gonna weigh 2770 full interior with an LS1 5 speed modification." I told him NO POSSIBLE WAY and we argued about it for a bit with no resolve, even though I told him that 2770lb is a bit less than that year vette and even a 93 Ford Probe. I am no Chevy guy but I started looking up how much these vehicles are supposed to weigh, and 2770lb came up as a weight for that vehicle! Is that really possible??? I understand that it could be for the 6 cylinder but they can't differ in weight THAT much right? The difference between the 6cyl RS and the 327 Z28 is supposedly a whopping 770lb (2770lb and 3500lb)!!! The difference between my car in 6cyl form and 340 form is 270lb (2830lb and 3100lb), which sounds way more reasonable. So I guess I am just asking what everyone's opinion is, since you all have much more experience with these cars and probably know what they should weigh with different combinations. Thanks

A friend at the tracks 68 weighs 2600-2700 lbs. Its a backed half deal with a most of the interior sheet aluminum. But still pretty much stock front suspension with A-arms and stock K-member or what ever those guys call it... he told me he could loose another 100+ lbs easy in the front end with aftermarket stuff... Its a cast iron small block with aluminum heads, glide and 9" Ford... A Duster can be made just as light IMO..But the aftermarket support form the First Gen Camaro is ridiculously plentiful compared to the Mopar A body stuff.

I found this information about the '67 Camaro weight.
"Chevrolet published curb weights for the 1967 Camaro as 2,910 lbs for the 6-cylinder coupe, 3,070 lbs for the 8-cylinder coupe, 3,165 lbs for the 6-cylinder convertible, and 3,325 lbs for the 8-cylinder convertible. Add 21 lbs for power windows, 20 lbs for the folding rear seat option, 86 lbs for air conditioning, 9 lbs for power brakes, 33 lbs for front disc brakes, 10 lbs for the 250ci 6-cylinder engine, 39 lbs for the 327ci V8 engine, 72 lbs for the 350ci V8 engine, 258 lbs for the 396ci V8 engine, 7 lbs for the four-speed manual transmission, 14 lbs for the Powerglide automatic, 56 lbs for the Turbo Hydra-Matic, 38 lbs for dual exhausts, 29 lbs for power steering, 15 lbs for heavy-duty battery, 8 lbs for an AM radio, 9 lbs for an AM-FM radio, and 17 lbs for the Rally Sport option."
Tell your friend the weight difference doesn't matter, your Duster is faster anyways!
Haha I sure hope it will be! I just sold my 8 3/4 and bought a Dana out of a truck. Just moved for a new job. No room to work now!!! I am going nuts. Hopefully I can get my car done in less than a year and a half and weigh it I agree with most everything said thus far, especially the vast amounts of info on camaros. I guess I will just have to wait until I get the car done.
