I AM NOT A SAMLL BLOCK PERSON ALWAYS HAD BIG BLOCKS.I WAS WONDERING WHAT AND IF POSSIALE IF A STEEL 318 CRANK WILL WORK IN A STELL CRANK 340.WHAT WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE TO MAKE IT WORK OR NOT..

The 318 went to cast cranks in the early 1970s. They were still internally balanced though.
As stated before, 273/318/340 cranks will interchange PHYSICALLY. You can have the 273/318 balanced to match 340 specs for under $200 at most machine shops.
