Rachets are great, but if it goes out your out. With a gated shifter you dont have that worry. I love my old Hurst Auto-Stick shifters for the street. But for racing it will always be a gated shifter. #1- Winters #2- Cheetah. Just like the feel of the Winters better. Both are great shifters as is the Fairbanks. Thanks, Ken ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/2231195-dggif.gif) Almost forgot, the "real" shifers are for a stick, hahaha!! Hurst V-Gate II

B&M Pro ratchet here, I love it! Before that I had an El Cheapo B@M something shifter ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif) missed gears all the time. I bought both new, the first one trying to be cheapo, the second one because I hated missing gears. I ended up buying Two shifters because I tried to Cheap out. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif) Even the Pro ratchet wasnt very costly IMO, Under $200 bucs. $149- $189, ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif) cant remember, mike
