B&M ratchet, I was a little un-easy about it till I bought one and love it. I driven cars with about every shifter known to man and fav. is the B&M ratchet and worst is a cheeetah.

One day I will have something cool here.

Rachets are great, but if it goes out your out. With a gated shifter you dont have that worry. I love my old Hurst Auto-Stick shifters for the street. But for racing it will always be a gated shifter. #1- Winters #2- Cheetah. Just like the feel of the Winters better. Both are great shifters as is the Fairbanks. Thanks, Ken

Almost forgot, the "real" shifers are for a stick, hahaha!! Hurst V-Gate II

Had a B&M Pro Ratchet in my last three cars and have a new one sitting on the counter for the new project. Never a missed shift. Works great on the street - no paying attention to moving sideways or lifting levers - one whack=one gear every time.

For a few extra bucks you can even get the carbon fiber pistol grip version.

we were just talking about this last night and i guess like everything else it's a matter of personal preference. i don't know if they make the same mechanism anymore but imho the best one i've used was called a B&M quick click. no screwing around with goofy patterns or levers. you would just ratchet it one position back or forth. iirc you could lift the handle up and move it to any position. i guess there is the positive lockout thing which iirc states the lockout requires both hands to disengage. i never cared for that cheeta shifter at all.

B&M Pro ratchet here, I love it! Before that I had an El Cheapo B@M something shifter missed gears all the time.

I bought both new, the first one trying to be cheapo, the second one because I hated missing gears. I ended up buying Two shifters because I tried to Cheap out.

Even the Pro ratchet wasnt very costly IMO, Under $200 bucs. $149- $189, cant remember, mike

I also love my B&M Pro Ratchet in my race car!!

My Dart has a Hurst slapstick or something,
I HATE it!!!

Its so nice to hit that B&M and know that its only moving 1 time.

$200 do tell where you can get them for that?

Or do mean just shifter and not all the other stuff needed to make it work

I didn't show that picture. My roll cage was in the way of the mechanism. making the bezel was the tough part.
