she will be on the dyno by the end of the week.i would have put on the blower but i dont know if my stand will hold it.she is primed, lashed.the puley is 10% OD again with the bigger carbs from 850's to 2x1250's.probably run C-12 and 30* timing.

Have you ran this combination, boost, fuel and timing, before? The reason I'm asking is the last blower motor(496 C.I Hemi with aluminum Stage V heads, 10:71 blower with two 1050 Dominator blower carbs) I dyno tested didn't like 25 degrees with 12% overdrive that made 12 lbs at 6500 RPM using Union 118 octane race gas. The same motor liked 33 degrees BTDC with 10% underdriven making 7 lbs boost at 7300 RPM on CA pump gas Don't be afraid to sneeck up on the timing, we went to much to start with with the O.D. set up and tried more, 28 degrees, and ran out of dyno time before we could try 23 or less Please let us know what the motor makes and the details, Good Luck

1st off Dave you are correct.thay are the same iron 346 heads.it was just not in the cards.
Cab there are a lot of thing effecting what fuel to use.i was running 110 sunoco before without the intercooler at 270* IAT,30* timing.NGK #8 plug,14lbs of boost at 10% OD.

With the intercooler and tap water my IAT was 130* and with the bigger carbs the engine will be happier at that same OD.i went .200 faster with 20% less drive with the bigger carbs so at 10%OD it will make more HP.

None of the three roots blown motors I dynoed had intercoolers. The last motor liked 130 IAT a lot better with 7 lbs of boost underdriven than it liked 180 to 190 F IAT at 12 lbs of boost with 25 degrees BTDC overdriven with the better gas There was around 100 HP differences, 927 HP at 7300 RPM with 7 lbs boost and 33 BTDC timing and 130 F IAT, twenty minutes later the motor made 1024 HP at 6500 RPM with 25 degrees BTDC with 180 IAT at 12 lbs of boost, it started to go into detonation so we pulled the throttle back

Thank you for the info to digest.i am thinking about the intake closing and how relative it may be on the pressure relation and fuel used.i have no idea on those points or facts to prove anything.my experiance is all i have to go by on what my engine may do.i appreciate your input.now that i think of it this topic should be in the boosted section so if a mod could do so please do!

METAL, with those pulleys, how much boost do you think she'll make on the dyno?

on a chart at theblowershop it shows 17lbs.
actualy i stand corrected.
http://www.theblowershop.com/upload/Downloads/BLOWER%20BOOST%20CHART%20FOR%20CATALOG.pdf

just 13.5 lbs at 10%OD

Do you run a water resevoir with ice when you race the car? Have you logged AIT's under WOT in high gear at the track? Or the delta temp between staged and traps?

Just curious. I have little to no experence with roots blower setups and would love the info just to compare.

Thanks.
