My parents have a 99 Grand Caravan, and a mouse made a nest in the engine compartment, inside under the windshield/wipers theres the vents, and theres a fiberboard type panel. Hard to describe, but the panel sagged, and the mouse got in and filled it with bedding and piss. I vacummed as much as I could, and blew the rest with an airhose. The panel stills sags a little, and my dad sprayed bleach, febreeze, dryer sheets, and it still smells when you have the vent on. I don't see how you could get to it, short of pulling the engine. Could this be accessed under the dash? My parents are retired on a fixed income/social security, and I need to find a solution other than paying a shop $500 to pull it.

Once my daughter's Neon got a musty smell, we poured a mixture of something and water in the cowl vents, and took care of it. Mouse smell might be like cig smoke, just almost impossible.

Try a bleach/water mix, unless someone here suggest not using bleach in the cowl.

Well, almost the same thing happened to me except the mouse died some where in the vent system. I was kind of looking at a new car so that was the final straw. I bought a new car and parked my Van for a couple of months. It finally went away but if was rough for awhile. See Ya!

When I was working in the chrysler dealership we used to get a spray for removing the musty mildew smell from the cars after the evaporator leaked freon. Believe it or not, it was called "stink away" and it came from the local Napa store. It was also recomended for those nasty dead mice smells that come from the heater fan from some customer every spring. I don't know if it is still available. It did smell a little bit like a talc powder , almost a baby powder smell.

I think some Caravans have/had cabin air filters. They can get funky just from normal crap in the air, if this vehicle has one it may be nasty + holding the mouse scent.
