One of my favorite cars. Who owned it when the photo was taken with no lettering?

I like the new candy stripes better, but it doesn't look like the original stripes based on some of those photos. That would be like building a S&M clone car with white pearl, candy blue and red stripes. It might look better, but wouldn't look quite right.

I agree, most of the historical race cars are mere shells of what they should or could be. I've seen Centerline wheels where Super Tricks were, Powerglides where a Lenco belongs, aluminum blocks, 150 cu.in.+ bigger than the original motor. It's just a body with paint after some of these hacks get done with them.

My father has Gary Ostrich's 1966 hemi wagon, the sister car to the Lee Smiths wagon and I have over 15 different photos of when it was painted purple. Trying to duplicate the original color scheme is impossible. Even tougher was the rainbow scheme on Smiths wagon. I own a bodyshop and will be repainting my dads wagon back to the way it was when Gary had it. I also have spoke with Brad Harms about touching up a damaged spot on Smiths wagon. I repair, restore, and refinish cars daily and who ever repainted the wagon did a fine job. Brad Curtin, Anthon Iowa
