any of you older hemi guys remember a rocker setup called a bigfoot?(for 426) im hopping i didnt just make a $600 mistake
the roller cam is spossed to have 595-600 lift(dont remember off top my head) the new springs are good to 650 lift the guy doing the heads asked if i had aftermarket rockers (rollers) i said no that i thought they were just stock rockers and i belive were like 1.5 to 1 the person i got the motor from said the rocker setup was a bigfoot rocker and thought it was 1.6 to one but wasent 100% sure is there a way to check the rockers to know for sure? or anyone heard of a rocker set up like that as iv never heard of it
i would guiess that possible to be a old pro stock/super stock part as the heads are dick landy stamped twin plug,s

Mopar made two different sest of rocker arms for the production motors, standard(narrow) pad and wide pads. I don't know which ones came on which motors The stock rocker armms varied in the actual ratio from the factory specs of 1.52 on the intakes, I think and 1.57 on the exhaust rockers. I may have the ratio reversed also I use to truna NHRA Hemi stocker, I found out after checking seversl sets of stock rocker that the rocker can vary as much as .130 lift at the retainer when checked on the same cam lobe . Rocker Arm Specialitys can corect the ratio on the stock street hemi rockers if you want them blueprinted and rebuilt Call RAS at 530-378-1075 Mon.to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PDT if your interested in this

The earlier rockers were the narrow pad. You'll find the ratios are all over the place. The blueprint spec is 1.57 intake, 1.52 exhaust. You'll tear your hair out when you check the acual ratios, none will be close. The stock rockers will work fine with that cam. Dave

I don't think there was such a thing as a "bigfoot" rocker. It probably referred to a wide pad vs. narrow pad rocker. My 472 has high ratio, factory DC intake rockers on it. I think they are a 1.7 ratio. When I was setting my engine up my intake lift was about .04 more than what it was supposed to be. that's when I discovered I had high ratio intake rockers.

well my concern was the fact that i thought the rockers were 1.5 and the springs were good to 650 lift and if there 1.6 then wouldnt that make it more then 650??? possible cause coil bind?

Yup: If they are 1.7's like mine you will have a problem.

The Comp 930's make a great higher lift flat tappet spring...I had a set that were installed at about 1.935 or so, and the cam lift was approaching .700..pretty good size for a flat solid.
I will link a old topic I posted a while back when i was shopping for Hemi rocker arms...
Those old stock rocker may havent been perfect but lots of guys have run them on roller approaching .750 lift...so they are up to the task..

i have the rockers off the heads now how can i tell what the ratio is? where would i measure?

ok i went down in the garage and grabed a pair their have a brass bushing with the 2 small oiler holes the long one has fon one end and a 2 at the other end one one side and a p with a circle around it on the other side
the short rocker just has the p wit circle around it a b that is barlet readible

this is ballpark lol but the long rocker measured (tape measure) 2 3/16-2 1/4 from from center where valve would touch and 1 1/2 from center to center to where pushrod would go

13/16 inch on push rod side but that would all depend on where the adjuster is

If the engine is still together, or you have a rocker arms on one of the intake and exh, it can be measured with a dial caliper if your carefull. Adjust the lash to zero. Measure from a good point on the retainer with the cam on the heel or base circle. Turn the engine over to max lift being careful and measure correctly. Find out gross lift and then what the cam card reads. on lobe lift. Do this several times until you get a couple repeated numbers. Divide the two.
I know ICL and other things can make a diff. But I checked my cam this way and it was within .010 of what actual net lift is.
Other way is too just measure lever point too fulcrum point simple math that way..It might be difficult doing this with out a good set of machinist mics and measuring equipment.

the heads are here and the stands are off the heads

When I first saw your post I assumed you just had a set of factory "widepad" rocker arms..

The "circle P" rockers I have seen have been Landy.
