Every winter they put methanol & other additives in our gas that makes it boil at a lower temp & the Shaker holds the heat till I get vapor lock in traffic. Just installed a Mancini 66-69 Hemi return line w/ the vapor separator yesterday & no vapor lock in traffic. Ran fine last nite, this eve, the Hemi won't fire. Took off the Shaker & the rear carb isn't squirting fuel. Front's fine, but the back eddy isn't getting gas. (has Stage 5 intake & eddy 600's) Anyone have any ideas why this is happening & what the fix is? I plan on switching the carbs to Eddy AVS Thunder 650's tomorrow, if that's the issue. Also, the separator is right up against the alternator & this doesn't seem correct. Alt adjustment is maxed. Any pics of how it mounts would be greatly appreciated.

buzz separator should mount off right fuel pump bolt, should not hit alt?? did you mount it high. could be needle set stuck in carb, fired up few cars in fleet this month each one had carb problems from sitting all winter

Aaron, I'll check how he mounted it tomorrow & will probably install the 650's too. It ran last nite & drove it about 40 miles. No vapor lock, but after sitting traffic, I got on it & it started to stumble about 4500-5K. Thought the fuel was just too hot, but maybe its an issue w/ rear carb? Ran great on race gas & no problems at high rpms. Maybe this return line is letting too much fuel go back to the tank & starves the back carb? Should I put a regulator on the return line to allow more fuel to the back carb? Would a regulator near the carbs help?

test mech fuel pump flow, put small dail reg between pump and carb up line, think you should add small electric pump by tank, right when out line hit rail, will solve all vapor lock flow problems, with better steady flow/pressure

I was thinking about a small electric pump back by the tank, if I can find a quite one.
Summit sells some small helper pumps, but don't know how quiet they are. I don't want the noise like my bro's Holley blue made. I'll check flow of pump & maybe the pump is weak. Ran great before the separator, except for the vapor lock issue, but race gas solved that, so must be related to vapor separator & return line setup. Put in the blaster coil last nite as you recommended, too.

Make sure your VS has the .062" orfice in the return nipple. I heard some got sold without which would allow too much fuel to return to the tank.

Thanks & is that the diameter or the return orfice hole? What's the correct size or diameter?

I'm not exactly sure what size it's supposed to be, but I think is around .062" like I posted above. I would think someone could back that up.

BTW I love your home town and state. Last year we drove from Reno to Vegas in our motorhome, I love it. Beautiful, was there last year for HAN!
Have family in Truckee right next to Donner lake.

Thanks for the info & I may try to squeeze the return hose smaller & see if it helps. If you're coming up to Hot August Nites this yr, please contact me & we'll go cruisin in Oh Mango. DOnner lake is awesome. Used to run around the lake every Friday a few yrs ago. ANyway, thanks again & hope I find the cure this weekend.
