BadFish340 took this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoxshoIXM1Q Thanks Clark for sharing it with me. This was the 6th pass of the day. It ran a 1.56 60' and 10.65 @ 126.69 which was the best mph of the day. My best 60' of the day was 1.50 on my 3rd run. My shocks are on the softest setting front and rear. Clark commented that the front seems slow to react. I know it hops twice on this run. The only other time it did that was my first run. The rear shocks were set on 5 on that pass. It hopped real bad on that one. Any suggestions? Jim

Not bad for an uphill track. Seems to bounce pretty bad on take off. To me it does not seem to have much front end travel.

it almost looks like you have it limited. Ckeck you front shocks, when my duster did that the fronts where shot. I could adjust but wouldn't extend.

looks like you put a good spin in it then started bouncing. front end does not move too much is the rear springs too tight?? what set up do you have??

could be the slicks were a little hard and the spin delayed things. Cam tracs??

Are you running super stock springs. My brothers car used to hop like that, so bad he broke two U bolts. He changed to ladder bars and that help a lot. His best is 10.23 @ 128mph. Best of luck to you

Jim, from the video it appears that your car is kinda "jacked up" in the rear. It may be fighting itself trying to throw more weight to the slicks! You may want to try raising the torsion bars to more level out the car so it can transfer weight better. Changing to MP Drag torsion bars may also help you transfer weight .

I watched your video several times as it launched. Are your rear shocks long enough? It looks like it is unloading the tires. How much can you raise the right or left side of the body before the wheels come off the ground? raise the rear of the car and put jack stands under the frame in front of th espring hangers so the rear tires are off the ground. You should be able to remove the shock and extend it another couple of inches. If you can't, then this is likely your problem.
What is your pinion angel and spring angle? It looks like it is still trying to lift the body off the tires when it starts hopping.
Do you have the front section of your springs clamped?
Are you running a pinion snubber or any traction devices, or just the springs.

HAH... with that primer on the green, it looks like you tried to copy Warfish. LOL
Good luck with it, this is the part I love, trying to figure out how to make it faster, quicker or more consistent.

The setup: /6 TB, QA-1 shocks all the way around at the sofest setting(the rears are long enough). CalTracs with 1" over monoleafs. This pic is the same setup last year except a 10.5x28 MT slick. http://www.erikandersondesigns.com/images/2009/04-11-MoparsInvade/0001/imagepages/image10.html

Looks to be spinning at the hit and bouncing going down the track. I`m not a fan of jacked up cars and you can easily lower that thing 2"`s in the rear and play w/the suspension more to get those 60`s where they need to be to match the et.

I can respectt that but I'm not a fan of azz draggers either. The onlt thing that changed the rear ride height was the larger rear tire. Bill's car has a very similar stance. http://www.erikandersondesigns.com/images/2010/04-03-Mopar/4340/imagepages/image1.html and leaves like this. http://www.erikandersondesigns.com/images/2010/04-03-Mopar/4340/imagepages/image1.html So I just need to figure out how to get there.

Keep working on it and don't be afraid to experiment, sometimes you have to go down the wrong road to find out that it is not the right road to improvements Look closely at all parts and theorys Bouncing is not good, BTW How is the raer shackle angles in relationship to the rear spring eye and the upper shackle mount ?

Thumper don't take me wrong on this. I think your car runs great and you have the #'s to back it up. I'm just trying to figure out why with only a larger tire mine got so messed up. Jim

I would try the QA1 rear setting pretty tight. That's what is making the rear load and unload. Keep the front loose, and shorten the control arm upper bumpers too. Get as much travel as you can.

No problem............I`m not taking it pesonally at all it`s just that the faster cars I know of don`t sit high in the rear as does yours. I used to have similar issues but after I lowered my car,extended/loosened ft. end and played w/rear shock settings and tire pressures my car does what my sig says.

Leigh the first pass I made. I had the shocks set and 5. The thing hopped really hard about 3 times. Way worse than in the video. So I backed them up to the softest setting. The hop was gone for the next 5 runs. The vid is the sixth run. This is the only other time it hopped. Just not as bad. Air pressure was 11.5 lbs. I will try trimming the front bumpers to get another .5-.75" of travel. Cal Tracs have an 1/8" air gap.
