i am restoring a lower control arm on a ebody. i need a pic good pic of the drip line to replicate. thanks moparts

Here's a pic showing the dipping line...On some control arms you can see the line even if the cosmoline is gone...Keep in mind the dipping line will vary depending on how much cosmoline was in the vat at the time...Below is an NOS control arm showing a lower dipping line..

Remember when you do this, there are two visual factors off the top of my head.

1. the actual submersion line near the knuckle may vary slightly as seen from this example. Some are closer to the knuckle than others.

2. make sure the process is done with the control arm hanging as it would in the process. If there are any drip marks/runs, it needs to be going in the proper direction, parallel to the length of the arm.

If your control arms haven't been altered or dip/painted before, I would try to see if you can find were your particular LCA's got submerged to. Usually there's a higher degree of surface corrosion on the bare area as opposed to that which was submerged in cosmoline.
