My 440 is 30 over with 452 heads and 82ccs the pistons are speed pros L2295F, I have 11.89 compression and was running E-85. Now I am returning to pump gas and was wondering my cam options with this compression. I am thinking of putting on cometics .085 head gaskets and making it 10.5 to 1. The motor is in a short bed truck that I street drive mostly and go to the track a couple times a year.

Yep, I would get the piston as far away from the head as possible with an open chamber head.

With 10.5, you may still get some rattle unless your above 3000ft. elevation.

What kind of cam are you looking for? hyd, solid ft. or ???

I am looking for a Hyd. cam. I have in it now a Cam Motion mechanical
Dur.@.050 In. 246 Ex.253
Lift .541 .542
C/L 108 104

The motor runs very good with this cam and I am running it on pump gas now with no problems. My lifters are loosing my oil with the solid lifters I have and I have had it! I installed old worn out stock lifters and the problem went away, So I am wanting a Hyd. cam now. Can I safely run Hyd. lifters on my Mech. cam??

It will depend on cyl pressure as the larger cam bleeds of more cyl press in most cases. But to big a cam is not good either for a given combo. I would see what your cyl press is now as it is good to keep it at or below 190 psi. Also cam timing has an eefect on cyl press. The cam in it now may work fine a and thats why I would check it now to see if you can run close to the same specs on a new cam. Ron
