I'm leaning towards the QTP units but see in one report they leak and one they don't after 5 years. Any other experiences with electric cut-outs? Thanks

Jim

QTP's for about 8 years. No leaks. Flawless performance. Mid-priced. McCords are less and the ones on Hot Rod TV are more.

I've heard good things about the McCords, and they are the cheapest ones out there I think.

I hope the newer QTPs are better than the older ones. I had a lot of trouble with mine. Motors coming loose from the mounts, butterflies coming off the shafts, leaks, etc.

I sent them back twice, which was an experience all by itself. QTP was more than a little difficult to deal with on getting the issues addressed. I finally put in longer motor attaching screws with locktite and had the butterflies welded to the shaft.

That finally dealt with those problems, but they still leaked. So last year I just removed them and installed Dougs.

If you are going to go with the less expensive butterfly type of cut-outs, check out McCords.

Master, again and still

We got 1 of the 1st set from Doug Thorley, they work and seal very well. Also then the price was much lower, but now they have almost doubled in $ cost. Also we have seen the QTPs leak badly...

Just my $0.01...

I liked the ABB load break cutouts, but our company stopped buying them and went to the cheaper non loadbreaks and bought loadbusters.
