I'm having repeated problems with oil pan gasket leaks, What is the best oil pan gasket for a BB?

In ALL of the cases I have seen ... it is NOT the quality of the gasket ... it is either the condition of the pan or the quality of the installation.

EITHER the pan-rail is warped or bent OR the pan-bolts are way over-tightened.

But to answer your ques, RoadHazard makes a great gasket that has been used in many of the Of the "challage" motor builds.

Koffel's place is going to start carrying them (MIght have them by now) Their link is in my sig.

Run a bead of "The Right Stuff" around the mating surfaces.

Usally I have leaks at front of pan, this time was at the back of pan coming off of two bolts. I used hondabond on front and rear of pan and ultragrey on side rails, certainly didn't overtighten bolts. Had a thinner than usual rigid gasket this last time.
