I've read through a lot of the old posts about people switch to manual and being happy or switching back to power. If you read this and switched from manual back to power then why, what type of driving do you do, and which car?

Mine is a '71 Charger that will be used for long cruises on the highway. I want better pedal feel than power, but don't want to have to stand on it. From reading old posts I've learned that going to a bigger bore on the MC increase breaking power. What size MC would you recommend for this application?

Thanks

I believe you'd want a smaller bore, maybe 7/8"-1". It'd require less leg from the better leverage and a bit more travel. I would consider some aftermarket pads of some type. I have a 1&1/8" M/C on an early A w 74 A discs/10" drums

I had a 74 dart, slant 6 with stock manual disc brakes. Pedal feel was great and I did not have to stand on the brake. Definitely was more effort to stop than a power brake car but not extreme or anything like that. While for me it's not worth the effort to change from power to manual, I would stick with a manual if that's what I had.

I usually use a 7/8" master cylinder piston size for manual brakes with a pedal ratio of 5 or 6 to one.

I like this Wilwood master cylinder because it has plenty of fluid volume and piston stroke length. That makes it work well in most applications. They are more expensive than rebuilt OEMs, but it's good insurance imo...
