I am rebuilding a 69 Plymouth with no budget and was wondering if anybody used KILLER CHROME on a bumper or at all?? If you have what results did you get and what did you use it on???
The web site for Killer Chrome is http://www.alsacorp.com/products/killercans/kc/killerchrome.htm

I have not used that product but something like it called AlClad, a lacquer with ground aluminum in it that you airbrush over a glossy black surface and it gives you a chrome finish far superior in gloss to any spraycan junk sold at the stores. If you use too much, it will dull down to a semi-gloss looking aluminum which is what I used to refinish 68 barracuda instrument clusters. I used a mirror finish on the bezels, and for the dash aluminum looking inserts I over applied it for an aluminum semi gloss, one caveat to using it tho, it will rub off if you touch it a lot, hands off and no cleaning chemicals or you'll be refinishing it. Clear coats only dull the shine but will protect it.

Thanks for the info, I looked at their web site and it looks like I would need alot of this if I tried to do it on a bumper, plus being on the outside of the car would not work to good.

From lookiing at their website it looks to be very similar to what I've been using. You spray it very thin to get the chrome effect so a little will go a long way I'm willing to bet. The stuff I use is for models, it costs $8.00 for just a little bottle containing 1 fl oz, but will refinish two barracuda instrument clusters, so a spray can of their stuff would prolly cover an average size fiberglass bumper, check the site for actual coverage claims as I'm just guessing.

Check your local powder coater, they should be able to get Chrome powder coat for your bumpers.
