I am wondering how much of a performance gain I would get from changing my converter stall speed from 6000 present to 5200-5400.I shift at 6500 and go through the traps at 7000. The car is a 67 cuda 540 pump gas motor,727,373,28" tires,700hp. Best so far 9.88 at 135.9 with a 1.37 60', footbrake.

You want the stall at or a little above your peak
torque RPM and I have always heard it should be about
1300 to 1500 below the shift point.... right now
you dont spend much time with the converter locked
up so in your case I would believe it would help
by lowering the stall.... BUT what is peak torque
at... you might be shifting too early..... JMO

I myself like a loose converter. I don't think you would see any gain and may even lose a little.
