I seen Rallye wheels on a car with the following: Pn 2944390, M1, Month-10 & Day-15. I know the codes and breakdowns but what confuses me is the 10 (oct) date code for a 71 model year. In Oct of '71, production is running '72 Models so then could these have been produced for Dealer Stock or Dealer Order vs. production?

You are missing the stamped number which indicates year "9" or "0"
sometimes it is not visible near the valve stem & you can look elsewhere on the wheel.

#2944390 - 15x7" "rallye wheel"
M1 - Motor Wheel Corp. plant #1 there is another digit stamped below this - it indicates year
10 - October
15 - 15th

Thanks Guys, I circled back and sure enough a 0 is under the M (HEAVY RE-PAINT) for 1970

Snoopy, thanks for the pic, worth a 1000 words
