the 440-1's are a max wedge port and I dont want to go that route for several reasons, no max wedge intake manifolds that fit under my hood, and wont -1s move the power up into the upper rpm's I I try to shift by 6/62k rpm.
from what I have figured the chamber on the Indy S/R will give me 11.2/1 compression with a .039" gasket. if I went to a thicker gasket it would be less, but Im fine with 11.2/1 The thing I like best about the /R is the room to grow in the future.
INDY Max Wedge 2D intake will fit under a stock B body hood even on a tall deck & will support over 700 HP. (they flow mid 350's out of box) I ran one on my '68 Road Runner with stock flat air grabber hood, 750 Holley & 2" air fliter, no drop base.
Remember anything other than RPM's, or EZ's will require special headers.... (raised ports (SR/-1 etc)

Man your fast... I have TTI headers for a raised port b engine now. They were ordered for the stage ^ heads. they are 2" to 2 1/8" steps so they should work on any raissed exhaust port . I didnt know that a 2d would fit. I assumed it was taller . thanks

Good deal on the headers, forgot about your low deck.
Yes 2D is about shortest manifold you'll ever find, & work great on heavy B bodies.... My 440 runs 11.20 @ 121 with 242 @ .050" cam, 9.7:1 on 87 octane @ 3700 lbs with the 2D. I went with INDY CNC gasket match option & just blended CNC into runners & called it good enough, Is'nt a race car, just daily driver.
2D looks like stock replacement intake from outside, even has choke well, & cast bosses for factory coil location etc. Funky intake....I did lot of research on it before I bought one, as I'm pretty picky about what goes into/on my personal motors. Certain guys @ track gave me hard time about running a dual plane, but results speak for themselves...

Lots of options... Are you willing to buy new headers? If not you can check 440-1, Indy SR, Stage 6, Victors, and any of the B1 stuff. You dont need a 350-360cc head for a 470 inch engine either. The EZ is the makes the most sence. No new headers, and can support 800HP fully ported.. You can reuse your old rocker gear, and headers, and intake.. This isnt possible with the raised port stuff or max wedge port window. I would just get a Indy EZ kit, have one of the board guys give it some good work, what they feel is needed for your hp goals...

Ryan , I would like to use the Indy dual plane, but I thought it was only available for the RB enignie. Do they make it for the 383/400 blocks now? that would be cool and my first choice.
Bob, I have the 2" step to 2 1/8 headers from TTI now, they were ordered for stage 6 heads. They are the headers TTI440-200c4. basically the 2" header for a raised port on a low deck (B)or a standard location port on a tall deck (RB)
They fit great and are currently on the car, although I dont think the heads I have are raised exhaust port heads. Thats why i thought the S/R's would be great, bowl ported but stock port window. use my H/S rockers and everything else in the kit from Indy. I can even reuse my M1 intake and it would fit if I got a new air cleaner.

It sounds like you already have the right head on the car for what your doing. If they are the same head as an RPM your all set. An EZ head would be nice, but I ran a low deck 451 with your cam(590) and Eddy RPM heads, went 9.80's at 3050#'s. Your carrying alot more weight but should still run good.
I also think those CNC ported Stealths look like a great deal, assembled by MCH.

Give Randy Beyer in Gretna a call, he does great port work and could probably have them done quickly. He ported my RPM's on my 499 and it makes 750 HP. He is great to deal with and prices are very reasonable.
I agree! Randy is a good guy and prices are definitely reasonable. He has a flow bench too.
