i got a vapor line kit from megaparts and it has a extra pipe in it. i am not sure where it goes, the fsm shows very vague pics of the fuel line system. does the end of the one end exit in the frame rail with a little piece of hose on it? and does the other end go into the side of the tank? pics would be great. it is a non esc system. hemi thanks moparts

A member from Harrisburgh posted some pictures here a while back. Maybe he'll see this.

you are spot on.if i remember it right then the bit of hose is between the piece that goes to and ends in the framrail, and the other hose end attatched to the vent line before it goes up the trunk floor grommet,on my car -70 cuda non ecs the bit of hose is in plain sight behind the rear wheel, but i think there should be some steel cover over it(under).sorry no camera, yet.ok then it goes up along the inner fender and down again through the nr2 grommet and to the single vent on the tanks right side.but i guess you allready new that.

Mike,

Mount the line in the trunk with the bend following up the outside of the pinch weld of the wheel house. If you look under the car you will see that the front line has a bend to it which just hangs open in the frame rail. The rear of the two lines will have about a 2" piece of hose connecting to an additional "S" shapped line that goes to the single nipple off the gas take. There is also a short piece of hose between them.

Sounds like your missing the correct "S" line that goes across under the muffler heat shield to the tank. The "S" line lays in the same oval slot the open line is in. Bob at Fine Lines (330-335-5000) has the right line kit you need if yours is not right and he also has the special clip I supplied him.

The special clip holds the vaper line tight to the pinch weld in the trunk to keep the line from rattling.

Hope that helps you Mike.

Hi Guys, I searched for the old thread but it's been a few years and it's not coming up so I'll repost the pics.....First pic is the rubber tank union with the keystone clamp and the "S" shaped piece through the frame... ....Next pic shows the outer trunk extension with the rubber trunk floor plugs...Small tube has the vapor routed into the trunk compartment loop...Bigger diameter line is the vapor end which exits into the frame...If you overfill the tank it will eventually spill fuel into the frame, out the hole and it will look like mine... ... My trunk floor was replaced so your vent lines won't go through the tab in the pic{it should be further back the seam}... ...Here's a shot of the trunk hardware... ... ....And lastely a close-up of the fenderwell clip... ....These pics should point you in the right direction !!! ....Colin
