I am having a fuel delivery problem on my little Scamp. It seems as if its running out of fuel. When it does this, I can take the line loose at the pump suction and there is nothing there. If a pump goes bad, can it blow through the check valve and pump fuel backward?? If a pump is bad, is if sporadic? I've got a new tank, new sending unit, clean lines, new filter..........not sure what else it could be??
Sounds like everything is new except the pump. Have you checked your lines for leaks?? When going bad a pump will start out losing pressure so that at WOT you will experience fuel starvation. They can work intermittently for a while but eventually it will act like a plugged fuel filter before dying all together.

Run a piece of hose from the suction side of the pump to a temporary gas tank close to the pump. If the pump picks up and runs fine, you have a problem with your lines or new sending unit. Also try removing your gas cap when the trouble occurs. You may have a blocked vent.
