Looking at a few different Holley 750s, no choke and mechanical secondaries. Can't see much of a difference in the 3 product lines, am I missing something?

The Competition and Race HP lines have notched floats and jet extensions. Any detriment to running any of those on the street?

Posting this for my neighbor for his mild 440, will see very little track time. He is trying to decide between $500 for a new 750 Street HP or a few used Competition or Race HP and save some $.

Thanks,
Darren

If he is looking to get a good deal on a new carb. Look at the Pro Form carbs. I have a 950 HP and it works very well.

In general the difference between the street and race carbs are how tuneable they are...Race carbs will have removable air bleeds, emulsion tube orfices,etc...Where the street carbs have fixed hole sizes for the application it was originally intended...The problem with a used race carb would be it was probably set up for a specific racing combo and would be tough for an average carb guy to back-track for a baseline starting point for a street engine without knowing what was done to the carb...

Competition carbs and Race HP's have no provisions for vacuum. Something to keep in mind.
