Was wandering if anyone had any dealings with these rocker arms. They are cheap in fact so cheap it scares me.I know I should just go ahead and get the Hughes rockers. Just wanting opinions.

I couldnt tell ya anything about those.
It appears from the pictures they're ok, but who knows?

I will vouch for the hughes rockers being top notch units as far as I'm concerned. I have the shaft rockers for the magnum engine and they are really nice man.

I'd rather be safe with the hughes myself, but like I said, those could be really good too. they'r edefinitely a lot cheaper is all I know.

not everything that is low cost is bad...

Enought people have had trouble with the cheapie china roller rockers that I would stay away. Heck, enough people have trouble with the name brand ones that I'd stay away from roller rockers all together unless they're absoloutly needed for your application. If it's for a small block, I would probably look around for a used set of factory adjustable rockers off a 273 or a ductile iron set of new ones.

those look to be pro comp rockers, i would stay away from them. prw is said to be the best of the cheap rockers. i know an engine builder that used a set on his 451 stroker with a mid .550's lift hydraulic roller cam. he says he's sold a bunch of them with no problems.

Rollers will not increase your power output ad will be of no adnvantage till you start using high lift with high spring pressures the rollers will help with side loading somewhat.

prw is probably pro comp with a different engraving on the rockers.

or maybe they are marketing prw as the upscale version of pro comp..lol

both are located out of southern cal 30 miles apart.

picture of pro comp 1.5 rockers ran two years on 340 bracket motor...had hughes 256/263 solid cam with about .590 lift. These have the needle bearing on the shaft...

personally, I'd stay away from anything with needle bearings for a street motor. I also personally feel more comfortable with steel or iron for a street motor. Needle bearing aluminum rockers just leave the door open for too many things to go wrong in my book. And they offer virtually nothing in the advantage column.

Now if this was a race motor that was going to be torn down and inspected regularly, then perhaps the risk is worth the small gain (??)

those pro comp i had held up fine, well..prw is the best of the ones made in china...then they are still made in china like the pro comp...probably same plant different shift..maybe prw shift is unionized labor...LOL

they are probably all designed in the USA by copying crane..comp..harland sharp rockers.

I was only looking to upgrade the rockers because I am going to a bigger cam over 498 lift. I have a set of 273 adjustable rockers, but I was afraid they wouldn't hold up. Does anyone know there limit?
I am aware that roller rockers won't add horse power per say, they do cut down friction and as mentioned side load. So if anyone has used 273 rockers on a big cam combo lets hear it I would like to know what their limit is.

You will be fine with the 273 adjustables. I know and I am sure that many others here know of a lot bigger cams thatn that running with them. Heck 498 is not a very big cam at all. I also know of a lot of people running bigger cams than that with OEM stock or HD pressed rockers. Use your money elsewhere, where it is more cost efficient.

You are wasting your money if you're buying adjustables to run that cam. Plenty of guys on here are running stock HD rockers on hydraulic cams with around .55x lift. I would run the HD stockers on anything with .560 lift or less. But some guys just think you need to spend money. If you're dead set on getting adjustable rockers, at least get yourself a solid cam so you're actually getting some use out of them instead of wasting them on a mild hydraulic.

I'm not dead set on anything, thats why I ask for opinions. I would rather use the parts I have or can get cheap especialy if there is no gain in replacing them, kinda silly.
