I'm reworking my 71 340's 4972 TQ as one of the original brass floats has sunk. The replacment floats seem to have a different shape. They come with instructions which seems to indicate you install them to the same height, but when I did so, the car floods. What is the correct setup for the replacment floats for this carb? Thx Astrobuf

Are you measuring from the top of the carb with a gasket?

Why the difference in the settings?

To compensate for the weight of the float itself.
