I would opinionate that that your fuel (delivery) requirements would not be great enough to warrant it so you wouldn't get any gain for your trouble and that the time/money might be better spent elsewhere

This an 1850 ? .. decent carb. But ferr your application ...as RR says - dual-feed is uNnecessary.

Now if you are looking for super MPG .. there are BESTer choices.

with RapidRobert

but it sure will look good with a nice chrome duel feed line on there with a braided line/gauge/filter

i did the same thing to my 600 eddie carb

the new thunders got the duel feed line so I just drilled and taped the other inlet on the top horn of the 600

I have not seen another one or one on a thunder either

I think i may be the only fools that bought one at 65$ with 100$ in braided line/guage/fliter too!

but it sure looks good on the 318 with the LD intake

if you got nothing else to do why not?

As Doc Fiberglass asked, is this an 1850? Or an OEM Holley? If it's an 1850, no reason you can't do it.

If you already have the float bowls from a junk carb laying around, there's no downside to doing it.

The only gotcha: if you are using parts from a junk carb, be sure the secondary float is designed for your setup (metering plate, most likely). The wrong float can hit the metering plate before it raises enough to close the needle & seat, resulting in a flammable bad impression of Old Faithful.

If it's an OEM Holley, some of them have an internal balance tube that connects the two float bowls. I've never attemped a dual feed conversion on one of these, but a cursory glance makes me guess it would work, again making sure the secondary float is designed for whatever secondary metering arrangement you're using.

It is a 1850 not a factory one.I do have some extra bowls and other parts from other carbs. Was just wondering if anyone had done it or if there was a reason why i could not.Not sure which way i will go yet. Thanks for the replies.

It can be done. I have an 1850 that I keep around to put on other cars that have carb problems while I service the messed up carb.

Most are quite impressed with the performance. I have center hung bowls and a secondary metering block on it. Many think its a larger carb than it is.

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!
