I am looking for some pictures of where/how you mounted your after market ignition coils.
I made a bracket for mine that uses the top two brake master cylinder mounting studs. This will locate the coil above the master cylinder up and away from the engine heat. I would like to see other coil locations before I start wiring in case I want to move mine again.

Thanks

I run a MSD blaster II coil, it's the more squarish kind of coil, comes with rubber insulators and I mounted it on my inner fender.

I made a bracket to work with the original coil bracket bolt holes on the intake manifold.

I really like that, mine is on the inner fender right now... Any pics of just the bracket?

As I recall it's very basic, just a flat piece of aluminum with 2 holes drilled for the old mounts and then 4 new holes for the new coil. Check to make sure the air cleaner has clearance before marking and drilling the new coil holes.

I made this simple bracket to hang a pro coil on the end of a big block head.

Here is another bracket that I made for a different MSD coil. This idea is like the one that Lefty showed.

That's the same coil I run, but I thought the instructions said to keep it away from direct engine heat and vibration..?

Off topic, what was the concensus on a prior thread: that stock coils should be mounted horizontle (like oe) and epoxy filled ones could go either way?

I was told by Mallory that the epoxy coils can be mounted in ANY orientation.
This is how I ended up mounting mine, away from the engine heat and a 22" Firecore coil wire .

Thanks again for the replies.

Here is another view.

Note: The 22" Firecore coil wire measured 5X less resistance than the Taylor 14" coil wire that I removed.
I will be getting a full set from Rick as soon as the budget allows.

I've got an MSD Blaster 2 (painted black to be sneaky...not that much about what I've done is very sneaky) that I mounted sideways in the stock location (it is the typical round coil so I used a stock style mount too). The Blaster 2 instructions say to mount it upright. I think it has something to do with it being oil filled. I mounted it sideways anyway and have not had a problem.

I just made a stepped piece of solid aluminum and mounted my MSD Blaster 2 coil to my Eddy RPM intake. A little hard to see but it's the only picture I have right now

Here is another bracket that I make for aftermarket intakes. This one allows you to hang a can type coil vertically in the intake valley area. Some coils get damaged when mounted horizontally so this style of mounting bracket can be useful. Hughes Engines has these brackets for sale.
