I have a 499 rb stroker and I have stage vI heads on it with a m1 stage vI intake. my heads are not the big max wedge ports so from what I am reading is they have stock port location. I thought I had to run the m1 intake but will any rb intake work on it? I have a 4150 intake with a 2" 4500 adaptor and not much hood clearance. can I run any rb intake? I was thinking mine were the raised port but they do not have the offset rockers. They are ported and cut way down to get them to 72cc chambers. Are these heads going to make decent power with my 12.5 to 1 499? The heads have been completely reworked so its not the quality issue on them just will they make power like i was thinking?

Sounds like you have the standard raised port stage VI heads. You can use any rb intake you want on your rb engine, as long as you use the manifold spacers. If you don't use them then you have to use the mopar manifold made for stage VI's with raised ports. I have a pair of these(heads), and they are not max wedge either.

If the porting is dpne well, it will make power, and for your sake, I would hope that the oil drainoff has been modified if early heads.

I do not have the max wedge ports. Are you talking about the oil drain off the spring pockets? I dont have the flow numbers anymore but I did some checking when I bought them and they were pretty decent numbers.

Yes, my early heads did not have good drain channels and oil would pool up in valve cover at rear cylinders and would smoke on cold startup....I would hope the later castings were corrected.
