I bought Eddies heads and 1.5 roller rockers from Hughes engine for a 340 and between the top of the springs and the roller, there is a small gap ( 0.04") What's your opinion.
is there someone with the same problem?
I think to buy beehive springs but I don't know exactly which to buy. I have a compcams XE268H.
Installed height : 1.805
Thanks.

Call the guy's at Comp and see what beehive spring they suggest for that cam. Or just carefully clearance your rockers for a little more room.

340 installed valvespring height with stock valves should be 1.68"...NOT 1.806. That alone will make more retainer to rocker clearance.

eddy heads come with a 1.80 installed height...

a few minutes with a grinder will take care of any clearance problem...

believe me there are plenty of rockers that have been "clearance" running up and down the track.

What's the minimum gap between springs and rocker.
I wrote to Compcams and they gave me the reference of beehive springs #26995.

On their website, it's written that this beehive spring #26995 is the version of part #995 dual spring but the rate is very different, 280lbs/in. for "26995 and 402 lbs/in. for the #995.
