Friend of mine just got a duster with a 360 in it. He's trying to get the bugs worked out of the car right now.And is having allot of trouble with the TQ that is on the 360. Car is running rich and is sluggish. He wants to change intake and carb, but doesn't know much about specs on motor, so it trying to stay more less on a stock improvement for street driving. He doesn't plan on drag racing it. So he is leaning towards a performer intake with a Edelbrock carb.
What do you guys think or any other suggestions?

It will be hard to beat the current combo if he gets the carb right.

stock intake and a 600 eddie AFB or 650 AVS if he can't get the t-quad to work.

he might contact Demonsizzler from Stone mountain, Georgia here on the board about exchanging or rebuilding it and what the cost and turnaround time would be. A TQ is a killer carb when it is right (& a royal pita when they're not) and he's the guy that can get em right and from what I understand the stock 360 iron spreadbore intake is no slouch so when he gets the carb squared away he'll be happy.

If we knew more about the motor & other drivetrain specs it would be easier on us.

I'll say an Edelbrock or Weiand aluminum dual plane intake with a 750cfm Eddy or Holley carb.

Make sure his distributor and timing aren't giving him any problems! They can cause a sluggish motor for sure.

Thermoquad. Start reading about them, there is a ton of great info out there and if you change the intake go for a performer. You will get great throttle response and torque

CARB running rich ? .. check the floats, then the metering rod tree .... also could be a mis-match of the metering rods and primary jets(this happens A LOT with some of the so-called carb rebuilders).
