I would contact Lane or Kenny at ptcrace.com They can build something that will work well and not cost a ton of $$$.

A good stock converter will flash to 2K so I think that is a waste of money

buy something a little better, or stick with a stocker, until you can afford to move up.

You get what you pay for with a converter.Cheap ones are.....well....CHEAP.
I would look into a 3500 stall 10" converter for what you have.
Take a chance on a used one if you know someone upgrading.

It seems people put a ton of money into their engines yet skimp on the converter. Putting a PTC 9.5" was the best thing I did for my Duster. It lowered my cruise RPM, and made driving and racing a heck of a lot more fun. If you're into bracket racing it also helped made my car very consistent.

with everyone above.......A bone stock number 764 Dacco converter will stall as high as 2,800 behind a stock 440 and they're extremely cheap.....Just get one at your local transmission supply house........If you need anything higher than that, call PTC and spend the $500.....you won't regret it.......

I ran that combo before as I had a 383 in a Dart. It had 9.5 comp with 452 heads and the MP .484 cam. We used 3.91's and we put a Turbo Action tight 10" 3000 converter in it which worked great. It was a street car that ran as fast as 12.31 @ 110. Ron

Call Paul Forte at Turbo Action and see what he has to say. I'm still getting used to the power on the street I currently have.
