Hey guys, I have a 440 with edelbrock heads and a MSD6AL. I'm running Champion RC12YC's. What should I set my spark plug gap at?

Stock was probably .035. MSD says to open it way up... as much as .055 from memory. With the gap that wide, secondary voltages will go up and put more strain on wires, cap and rotor. I compromised and ran .045 on a similar setup engine. Next plug change, I'll try .040 and see if there is noticible difference.

I run .045 on my 318, tried .040 and .050 but saw no noticable difference.

0.045... at least that's what I run. Eddy heads, 9.2:1 compresion, RC12YC plugs, but MSD6A box.

I too went to .050 .055 and saw no dif, then read on NGK's site something about stock street plugs should not be opened past .045 or so, so i set mine at .042.
