Bought a set of the "HEMI Footprint"/"514" SB rods off of Ebay for a good price, supposedly a new set of 8. When they arrived, 7 were in fact new but one was obviously used, but not spun/bent/etc.
Now I am stuck with one unknown rod/bolts. The bolts are the same dimensions as 426 Hemi bolts (length and 7/16" diameter), but all I can find readily are ARP entry-level bolts. The bolts are stamped "SPS", and I have used their 3/8' 440 or 340 bolts before, but where can I get 2 identical new replacements for these behemoth bolts? I tried SPS's website, but it is not user friendly and seems industrial more than automotive in nature. Any recommendations? (or at least ONE NEW rod!!! ) RB

Thanks for the response! What would you take for 2,15, whatever? [crtrans@windstream.net] I would surely feel better with the 2 new bolts and a resize of that one used rod... RB

I know the feeling, Chris. This must be one of my pay-backs!!! I've been paying-it-forward for years... Rodney

PS: I hope that Ebay guy gets some pay-back, for mis-representing my rods!!! I didn't even smoke his feedback~~~

You guys RULE !
Karma and stuff aside , this internet thingy has been such an amazing additive to this pastime of ours.
I have sold a ton of stuff all over the world........and bought a ton and a half.
But I have more than a couple people I consider good friends that I have never met yet.
When you cling to the off beat........my vices have been collecting air cooled European Motocross bikes , collecting automatic knives ( switchblades and stuff ) and now MoPars , this box I am staring at turns all magical and stuff.
How would a similar situation be handled in the pre computer era ?
Sure........it could still have been overcome , but not as quickly.
And with far less class.
Pretty cool.
