Summit is about $9 a can for the offical mopar stuff, and I for one say money well spent.

Don't use the duplicolor hemi orange stuff, that crap is so thin it will take you many, many cans to get full coverage. DAMHIK. I don't mind paying 9 bucks a can if I can actually get some coverage out of a can.

Have used Plastikote and some Mopar paint recently--both covered well and were not thin or watery.

Can't remember how much I paid, but covered a big block including valve covers and pan and intake with less than three cans.

Don't skimp--you only want to do it once.

Just got done painting a motor with this crap. Reminds me of the old formula Mopar Performance stuff. Supposedly the new formula MP stuff(from a different supplier) is much better.

I've used VHT with good results. Ironically, VHT is owned by Duplicolor. Guess they have different formulas. Can't find VHT locally though.

PlastiKote is great stuff too, but I can't find it locally anymore. PepBoys use to carry it, but now they have the Duplicolor crap.

Autozone carries Rustoleum, but I've never used it.

VHT is owned by PJ-1.

I like Plasti Kote the best, but as mentioned it's hard to find.I haven't tried RustOleum, but will if I can't find Plasti Kote.

MP paint used to fade badly when exposed to antifreeze spills or spray over. Don't know if they ever fixed that problem or not.

I use the Mopar engine paint. New formular is much better. Holds out very well.

I used car paint over a very thin coat of epoxy primer on the Road Runner about 2 years ago It has been on several 1 to 3 hour trips and looks great.

stop playing with that spray bomb crap. get some high solids polyurethane paint and shoot it the right way. it will look a thousand times better and hold up a thousand times better.

I found mine at Car Quest and I've also seen it at Tractor Supply, but not sure about what colors your store will carry.

Unless it's changed very recently, VHT is a division of Dupli•Color, Inc., a Sherwin-Williams Company.

A lot of it has to do with what you want it to look like. The factory didn't have this deep glossy look to it. And Troy was trying to get that UN-glossy look. Probably not the "look" everyone wants.
