Like ALWAYS Mopar is out of the std length Bronze gear oil pump shafts--if you need one Summit had 3 left a minute ago--Milodon brand-- so get one while you can or your project may have to sit and wait--

True, BUT it`s still a chevy. I got mine from the local chry. dealer here and they had it in stock although that was a couple of years ago.

I knew about it and awhile back I posted that was about to happen. Crane used to make them for MP, and now no more Crane so it's been coming for awhile.

The shafts, pin, and assembly are OK, and are done locally out of a machine shop in Mt. Clemens MI.... it's just the gears that are the problem.

MP's product planner knows about it and is working on getting some new gears set up. No eta at this point, but I can say with confidence it's definitely not going to happen instantly.

Maybe Milodon was also using Crane gears, and they are running short too. Probably a good chance of it.

Oddly Crane's catalogs were wrong for a long time, they stated bronze RB and LA gears were the same....but they're cut in opposite directions....maybe they did that on purpose so as to not compete with their customers I'll never figure that one out.

You are right--I just get so PO'd ALWAYS some part on intergalactic back order--you just can't tell a customer a build deadline on a Mopar! I have to say --we really take a beating
I did buy a "kit" last month--the vendor had the rep deliver it on his normal rounds FREE complete kit aftermarket block , alum heads and EVERY bolt and piece to assemble--we put it together after a little pin fitting etc and added a carb and a distributor and bam! 988 HP first pull--the entire kit was under 9K We can't get 1/2 a Mopar for that and a 1000HP Mopar is a HIGH $$ affair---rods are rods, cranks are cranks etc we get SCREWED and I am just tired of it.
Another example--bronze tip fuel pump push rod for Chevy $9 for a Mopar from the only guy that has them $80 Ok I am done now..

I hear ya................I will NEVER drive or race a Chevy it`s not in my chemical make up but, to each his own.

Are you talking about a BB unit? Why not run a 440Source? I put 7000 miles on one last year... seem to be a decent piece.

I have a collection of SB ones but none are for sale.

Way too many years of having one 99% done except for ONE back ordered part---I guess it gets better for Mopar guys every year but I work doing other brands too and get SPOILED being able to get anything I need from 2 dozen different places at 1/2 the price ---forgive me---
