Hey Guys,

Let's say i have an E58 360 out of a Lil Red Express....what newer model automatic transmissions are direct bolt ins?

If anyone knows of a link to something that explains this in detail, linky away! I would like something that is pretty direct and straightforward but with an overdrive (A518? maybe).

What converter (not stall but type) is required....and is the linkage direct. I would like to run a little more gear (3.55) but still have a nice highway RPM.

If anyone recalls, this is an option i am considering for the 55 Belvedere I acquired late last year and subsequently popped something in the cylinder head on the 230 L-head six.

The A500 and A518 OD transmisions only came with the small block bolt pattern so they will mate to your 360 or and LA or Magnum motor.

Lockup transmissions will require a lockup converter. Linkage is in the same position as the 727/904.

How's transmission tunnel clearance in that car look? You may have to do some .

I think it's 95 and earlier you want with the 96+ being fully electronically controlled and not what you want.

i am not sure to be honest....those old three speed manual transmissions were pretty spindly (small) so i would not be surprised if some surgical sawzall work and bit of massaging with the ford wrench will be required....but that would be the case if decide to go the 5.7 or 6.1 hemi route as well.
