Finally got the new trans yesterday. I'm going to be getting her back together this weekend. What trans fluid should I be using in this new 727 and how much should I put in it before I fire it up to test and top off. Right now it is dry I assume just as it was picked up from the builder.

The original factory fluid was Dexron and it still works quite well.

Total capacity depends on the converter size, cooler, etc. usually around 10 quarts. Pour one quart into the converter and, with a stock pan, pour six into the trans; be ready to top it off as the pump fills the converter; use the FULL mark on the dipstick once warmed up.

Be sure to make the initial start with the shifter in Neutral instead of Park.
