I want to build something that will get me in the mid 6's in my 1850# dragster. The wedge stuff is what I have now, and I could run NOS, but thought I would get some feedback on a mild blown hemi. I know several people that run TAD, and could get a deal on one of their motors that aren't as competitive. Also, what would be the life cycle of a 1400HP 10% overdrive blown hemi? I'm just thinking out loud, and I shouldn't do that. It hurts! Also, would it be better to run in a hardtail?

Thats what I did...bought up used/outdated(but good)TA/FC parts, combined with some new, for less than $15000 (Inj to pan). I have a 3000hp(Potential) motor de-tuned to less than 2000hp. My belief is, I am going to run the motor at a 1/2 - 2/3 its potential output which should equate to additional life.
All that being said, if you keep after a TA motor(bearing insp, clean oil, keep the fuel "tune" in the safe zone, dont twist the blower too hard)they hold up just about as good as a bracket motor.

Tom,You could use most of what you have now but change pistons and rods and put a decent blower on it and go.We did a BS headed engine about a month ago w/10-71 2 alky 850's 10% ud and made 1270 hp and with the 30% od tune made 1870hp.I would think with your reg B1 stuff making over 2000 would be cake. Our own dragster comes in at 1950 lbs and we run a 14-71 at 50% od the car runs 6.0's at about 230 and runs 3.80's in the 1/8.If you want to go that route give me a call and we can go over a combo.Scott
