There should be numbers stamped in the top of the block in front of the valley cover.

you can do a google search of hemi casting numbers,,there is a big chart,,a guy called me wanting to know if i wanted a motor he had,,he didnt know what it was,,i was running around like a chicken with his head cut off doing his leg work,,,i never heard from him again lol
or go to www.hothemiheads.com and ask,, some one there will tell you,, but im positive its a desoto hemi,,not industrial chrysler

It doesnt look like there is a stamped number in front of the valley cover. It could very well be an industrial Desoto. 19, 19A,(276) or 19B (291)

About 2 years ago, my buddy had me look at this engine. It's a 1956 industrial engine. I had a pad attached to the side of the block with all the assembly specs, which now disapeared. From what I was told, the engine had very low miles on it, then went to the shop where it was disassembled and used for tech for the students about 20 years ago. There isn't any block numbers on it, so I don't know what size it is. Anybody have some insight?
Nice Charger! Any more pics?
