If you have a spare slip yoke that works best. Also if it is a small block take the dist cap loose so when the engine hangs down it doesn't break it against the firewall. Ask me how I know..... Dan

That and make sure you both ate your Cheerios.I usually leave my floor jack under the trans till its all loose.I also put another one under my oil pan with a block of wood between it.Then I get my sons to help me get it in and out.I used to just set it on my chest and do it.But Im getting old and need help now.Rocky

get a pair of long bolts the same dia as your (4) trans to bell bolts, cut the heads off, cut a screwdriver slot in one end (of each one) then take out the 2 top bolts and replace them w your new ones then remove the bottom bolts and the trans will slide back/out wo damaging the clutch wo you having to muscle it near as much to hold it up till it clears.
live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

Listen to The Rock, I used to bench press them in and out, but not so much anymore. Getting a bit too old for that and my son is only 4, so no help there and my daughters are all sphaghetti armed.
Whatever you do, don;t try to catch it if it starts to fall off the jack, you will break something, of yours not the trans.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

If you do try to set it on your chest to install pull the drain plug. That thing will dig into your chest bad.I forgot about the long bolts. It makes it easier to get it in position.Make sure if you are replacing the clutch to have the flywheel resurfaced and use a spline tool to align it.Rocky

You have it pulled now, right? No problems I hope. And you did not get smashed by that chunk.
Wonder (since I have mine out of the car too) WHY you pulled it. Problems with 2nd gear???
After all these years having a 440 I realized that this means having an attitude... and a budget.
