My 69 Rr steering box had been leaking on steering arm shaft ,I had put a seal in it ,but still leaked ,found another box in my stash ,look better ,replaced seals in it ,decided i would replace pump hoses also ,can,t stand leals ,put it all together ,now it poors out steering arm shaft ,pulled cover of unit cleaned ,made sure nothing was no valves were sticking ,put back toghter ,still pours fluid out lower shaft ,pulled seal out ,nothing wrong ,i,m stumped here ,Don,t know what to do now ,any ideas ,too much pressure Etc ,i ruined seal pulling it ,will be monday before i can,t get another ,Any ideas ,shaft seems tight ,not too much play

are you sure its the bottom seal leaking?

I had the small top seal leak and it looked like the lower seal leaking

Yes i,m postive its the bottom seal ,but i am about blind

Maybe your using the wrong size replacement seal?

I pulled new seal out ,i compared it too old one ,its the same ,i ruined new one in process of removing ,I need to get someone too watch as i start car ,it leaks out real fast as soon as i start car ,i don,t have time to get underneath car ,but will be monday before i get new seal

Check to make sure your box isn't cracked somewhere. It happened to me. Have someone turn the steering wheel while you check to see if you can see where the leak is coming from.

How difficult is it to replace that seal? It's looking like I might have to replace my '69 Charger's PS Box seal, too...
