hemi spark plug question #605421

should I take the metal washer off the plugs before installing the plug.

yes, otherwise the tube end gets distorted and may leak oil into the cylinder, the tube is now your "washer" to seal the cylinder around the plug

I have always left them on.
No problems except the oil that drips into the cylinder when you change the plugs..

I've done both, but the service manual states that the tube is the washer. Some plugs come with the washers separate like (gasp) AC delco.
