Could anyone tell me what the correct color carpeting should be in my 70 Road Runner? I don't have the build sheet and I don't know if the fender tag would have this information. The car is Vitamin C orange (the bright orange)and has a burnt orange interior. When I got the car it had black carpeting but someone told me the correct color for the carpeting would have been orange as well.

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat with mine, Burnt orange in/out with a late May build date, car has had black carpet and console since 1980 and appeared to be original. I do have the build sheet for mine, what codes are we looking for? It is an auto trans car.

The door tag on mine has Oct 69 on it and it's a V code car but the original drive train was long gone when I got the car but the body and interior (except for carpet) seemed original and the fender tag said the car was orange as was the interior.

The color and trim book indicates black carpets when the car is equipped with a 4 speed. Click on the attachment link for a larger image.

Thanks Guys!

I just got a new carpet set in black and I was getting ready to send it back for the orange.

Glad I posted this question!

my old 70 BEE was blue bench seat interior with only 14000 miles and it had blue carpet, I didn't buy it new, But I'd bet my ars it was the original carpet

this question has been hashed out numerous times over the years with no answer as 100% absolute

I've had several 69-70 B-bodies with colored interior 4 speed cars over the years and NONE of them were black carpet
