I will start assembly of a new 500" stroker for this season shortly. I have Eagle Rods with ARP bolts. ARP reccomends you measure the bolt "stretch" instead of using a Torque Wrench. This is new to me but I bought the calpiher tool they said to use. I am going to use this method and it makes sense. I have never had a problem with using a torque wrench on the several motors I have raced. Check ARP website or give them a call..I usually go 50 ft.lbs in increments on rod bolts. If you replace factory rod bolts with new ones it is not a bad idea to have them resized or at least checked for distorstion.

hensley redid my rods.they resized, shot peened and installed arp bolts.i dont have a stretch gauge, had never heard of one till a few minutes ago.also, this a pump gas street 440,will make about 525 or so hp with a mild hydraulic cam,so its not a 8000 rpm monster
