8 3/4 hang up #598056

I have been driving my 71 bee for 3 months now ,great cruzin but today I started it up put it in drive and the rear wheel skided along, ( 8 3/4 276 gears ) I jacked the car up and droped the drive shaft and turn the shaft and the trans is ok but the wheels do not turn , nothing is broken can you tell me why? how can it tighten up like that ? asking before I start taking things apart have 391"s for racing and for 20 years never had problems

Oh, something is definitely broken. Could be a locked up brake, seized bearing, etc. A rear end can't just "tighten" up. Start with the brakes on that side. If you can't get your drum off, I'd say you found your problem. Otherwise, it's time to pull the axle and go from there.

Okay thanks I hope it is just the brakes I'll check it after it stops raining
