First posting...

I'm looking for information on griner valve bodies. I hear they're the best and I want the best.

Any of you guys using them? What is you're opinion of the quality and performance of the product.

I've got a name and number, first name steve but I don't know if it's right.

DIRECT contact info would be greatly appreciated.

Background, I've got a door car, an alston 4 link chassis, 500" motor putting out at least 800 at the flange. Dyno sims put it at 950 but to be conservative I'll say 800. I bought a transbrake from a place called transking in texas but was never really pleased with it. Seems like I was having transmission problems from when I first got it.

Thanks for any help,

Wayne Thomas

Welcome to the board

You'll probably want to post this in Unlawfl's Race forum, that is where you can get your info hopefully...

a lot of guys say Griners are the best but i only personally know 2 racers with Griners & both have had solenoid problems. i went from a TA brake to A&A's ultimate brake & found a BIG improvement over the TA & i can deep stage real fast with it. at least you're looking at low band apply brakes, you're on the right track.

I have used 2 griners before, 1 was t/brake and 1 was non t/brake. both were good to use. Contact Keith at 727 specialists. He is a griner dealer and advertises in the classifieds area.
I think his user name is 727specialist.

I have 2 904's built by Keith and both have Griner VB's, one is an LBA brake. Both have worked flawlessly.

I 've run my GRINER t brake since mid 90s has worked great .
Looking at getting a LBA brake for more safety, already put in a bolt in sprag last year.
He can be hard to reach and ,as others have said but others carry his products .

I bought a Griner from Mancini. Works flawlessly. It is a much better looking VB than any other out there.

Yea, from the pictures I've seen they sure are a pretty piece.

I've emailed that trans specialist. He says he's not only a distributor of the griner bodys but is a manufacturer. I was kinda surprised to hear that as I assumed they were built in a griner factory or something.

Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Wayne

I love my Griner valve bodies. I have the footbrake, high pressure version.

His name is Steve Griner and he builds awesome valve bodies and not just for Mopars. His shop is in Mulberry Indiana and is very hard to contact as was already said there are several dealers on this board to hook you up. I think maybe Cope Racing Transmissions also a member here.

You think you have trans problems.

You should have been here on 2008

I think Griner is the way to go. He's been designing and building transbrake valve bodies longer than anyone.

I've used his stuff in 904s and Glides. Happy with all of it.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

if you get a griner let us know what you think of it. i have a transking brake in the roadrunner, and i have to wire up the line lock so it doesnt rock when i set it. might change it out in the future.

you might check valvebody pressure that could be the issue .I can't remember witch port but thiers a port on side of trans to check it .
Find out whats its should be by manufacture .
Usually have to pull pan and adjust with a allen wrench .
Does anyone remember this procedure ?I'm old

I have been using Griner valve bodies for years with great results! I bought mine from Keith Long the "727 SPECIALIST". Keith and Steve Griner have a buisness alliance and are doing several projects together. Keith has told me that he is doing most of the work and assembly of the Griner Mopar valve bodies. They are also developing transmissions for a race diesel truck. If you need a Griner valvebody contact Keith. His ad is in the transmission for sale section.
