I don't have my chassis book with me or either car here, and I was curious what the offset was for a typical B-body. I never measured, and I was looking at different potential rear ends to swap in.

8" from outside edge of front framerail on drivers side to exhaust stud on front of the head.

5" same measurement except passenger side.

This is '63 Dodge with v-8 K frame, original BB motor mounts and 440 with 906 heads.

Thanks, that helps quite a bit, since one car is a '64 Polara. I'm going to go out to the polebarn in a bit to measure the centerline of the driveshaft on the Coronet wagon next. I'm planning on using an Exploder 8.8 in at least the Coronet, since I can get them for less than 1/3 of the price of a 8 3/4 with 4.10s and a limited slip, they have disc brakes, and the width is almost exactly the same. The pinion offset on an exploder is pretty big, though.

Let me know if you need other measurements.

My car is about 10 feet away in my attached garage and is easily accessed.
