i'm sure there is but without schematics it would be hard to describe on the net.

I almost pulled the trigger on the Painless 8 circuit drag race setup today, but just couldn't swallow the price.

Now I may have a little different perspective on this as I worked electronic warfare systems to component level in the USAF.

I was just going to take the easy way out and buy a harness to save time. I may still do it but can't for the life of me figure out why the 8 circuit setup is so expensive.

Try this one

It's the one I used. I just made my own switch panel.

The one you linked is outragous

The one he linked is outragous, but it does include a switch panel. But even so its still out ragous.

Also look at www.americanautowire.com they have some quality harnesses that are universal. I like the Highway 15 for a race car. mike

When using a ARC 8000 panel, is there a way to wire the key into the start circuit as a safety/theft deterrent? I've been thinking through it but still not sure.

Should be, Dont know the ARC 8000 panel. The IGN switch has full power. Cut the power wire to the start circut through a relay or solinoid. Power that off the IGN acc/on. Everything will be dead without the IGN energized. mike

I am getting ready to re-wire the Dart and I am torn between the flatpanel ARC unit and the K&R. I wired the Firebird with 2 K&R units and they are hard to beat. Everything included down the the shrink wrap with large laminated schematic. And Kevin's customer support is simply the best. But the ARC offers more switches and they can be programmed to momentary or full on. Also can be programmed on/off with ignition. I also like the flat panel as it is very thin, headroom is tight in my dart... Might have to try them this time.

I went the Spaghetti Menders way. The customer service was great,it has 2 pilot lights on each circuit to allow you to see power in and power out. It is all plug and play switch panel fits nicely.

Here it is completed.

We rewired my car last summer and used a K&R.
as far as im concerned it is the best out there!
It is all labled, there are big picture diagrams,
and they will help you if you call.

They have great customer service also!!

For my money K&R is the way to go!!!

Bill, can you share a pic of your home made switch panel for all to see? mike

Painless does sell a universal 12 and 18 circuit fuse block as well as a weather proof 20 circuit. But if you think about adding in the cost of wire and then all the terminals that come with the kit it is cheaper to get a universal harness.

Back in the swing of things at Painless again! Great to be back!

this is true, but I already have all the rolls of wire and terminals already.
Do ARC or K&R sell fuse panels separately?

They mostly deal with just race related stuff. I know that ARC at least used to sell a switch panel that didn't have any wiring off of it. They used printed circuit board technology and I hated it. I mounted the one I had in the dash and every time I had to pull the stupid thing out to do something I HAD to disconnect the battery or it would arc against the dash and cause more problems. The one big thing I do not like about K&R or ARC is printed circuit boards. If they go bad you have to send them back or buy a new set up. The painless stuff I can fix no matter what happens with it. It is wire, terminals, and relays with fuses. A lot easier to fix and specially if something happens at the track.
